Baby knits

Have finally got around to casting on for the lace baby shawl that I’ve been planning to knit for the bump (even before the bump actually existed) since the beginning of last year.  Having knitted two baby shawls since then I now have firm ideas about what I like and don’t like.  One advantage of friends having babies is that you can make them presents of your experiments!   This is in Patons Fairytale 3ply 100% wool.

A good structure to it and it’s nice to knit with.  Am using patterns from the ever-priceless Heirloom Knitting – haven’t decided on a border pattern yet but the centre is nine repeats (widthwise) of the Candlelight pattern – v pretty.

I finished off the bathrobe for the bump last weekend too. Acres of moss stitch later (thank you Debbie Bliss) – here we are:

I have to say it does look cosy. Might try to find a pattern for some matching slippers, as I’ve got a good amount of yarn left over.
